Adani Green Energy (AGEL) has reported strong operating growth for the first half of FY27, ahead of its quarterly results later this month.

The company's operational capacity rose 24% year on year to 20,763 MW, and energy sales grew 32% to 25,747 million units, helped by new capacity. AGEL added 4,083 MW of greenfield capacity during the half, including 621 MW in the July-September quarter.

Battery storage was a major addition. In the September quarter AGEL brought 3,081 MWh of battery energy storage online at Khavda, taking its total installed storage to 6,632 MWh at the end of the half.

Plant performance stayed high. The solar portfolio recorded a capacity utilisation factor of 22.9% with 99.3% plant availability. Wind reached a CUF of 42.9% with 94.6% availability, and the hybrid portfolio posted a CUF of 45.2% with 98.8% availability. The company said its operating portfolio powered more than 4.4 million homes and avoided 17.5 million tonnes of CO2-equivalent emissions in the half.

AGEL also highlighted external recognition: it said it was ranked first globally in the Alternative Electricity Subsector by FTSE Russell for a second year, and its Khavda battery storage project won the Largest Project of the Year award at IESW 2026.

AGEL's board will meet on Wednesday, October 21, to consider results for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2026.

The shares closed at Rs 1,255.80 on the NSE on the day of the update, up 1.63%, and have gained about 22% so far in 2026, according to the report.

What to watch: the Q2 numbers on October 21, especially how the new Khavda storage and capacity additions feed through to revenue and earnings.
